@@Jenn1818 I too am 9 days post op today. I sleep with my sheet, coverlet, and HEAVY duty Ralph Lauren comforter I had stopped using because it was too hot. Right now I have the dehumidifier running in my office because it warms up the room. I'm Louisiana and have to run the a/c pretty low for our biz. I AM FREEZING right now. :) I have gloves in my drawer and put them on when I walk around the building for my exercise.

How is everyone doing today? I backed off to the week two diet and I've been sick free for the last two days so I guess I'm just not ready for anything more solid. I find that around 2pm every day I am just exhausted...not just tired, but bone weary. I am also having some emotional downs but I think that is normal life, not surgery. I have to stop hopping on the scale repeatedly and worrying about the numbers. I know I've already lost something like 12lbs and that I can't lose a pound a day everyday as well as the fact that I'm moving and not eating enough that I shouldn't lose weight so I just have to stop stressing over it and look at the long term. This isn't easy for me but I can't hurry things!

Does anyone else have trouble with Vitamins? I can't have liquids with food, but if I take them on an empty stomach they can make me very ill so I'm not sure what to do! I bought the Calcium chews from bariatric pal and they're good but it's like $90 a month that way for Calcium alone and I can't sustain that...nevermind the fact that I have to worry about other Vitamins as well! What are you all doing to cope?

Have you tried costco? They have calcium chews cheaper.

I am actually bummed I prepped so much that during Black Friday I bought the calcium chews, while they taste so good (especially during just liquids) I HATE the amount of sugar in them. I had brought that up on here and people are like no big deal, you are not eating the carbs...blah blah. I try at all cost to avoid sugar (not a diabetic), I was in ketosis at neutral on the stick and the day after starting the chews it went back to Moderate on ketostix after being neutral for over 2 weeks. For me that is too much sugar. Each chew is like 2g which may not be a lot but that's 6 g at the end of day or 1 1/2 t. of sugar. That's a lot at the end of the month. Like someone mentioned get real calcium and crush into your food or drinks.

Great idea, @@bill1130 - I'm finding the Iron challenging too though and that's supposed to be taken more on an empty stomach. Maybe I'll crush the Calcium pills and hope that doesn't make me gag and, if it works, spend the money for chewable iron. I know I need my Vitamins and I don't think taking them counts for much if I keep sicking them up:P

Sleeved Jan 12th. Had my follow up with dr, so far so good. Got approved to start purée phase tomorrow. I'm nervous about leaving my liquids only phase, since has been going much better .

Ugh - I lost like 12 lbs the first two weeks and then ONE pound the next week! I wasn't ready for that and it's seriously bumming me out because I'm doing what I'm supposed to do! My doctor had said I could eat Stage 3 diet with some solids but I'm randomly unable to keep things down so I had to pedal back to stage 2. I hate drinking fluids all day and I have gotten my period twice already since my 1/3 surgery. I'm constipated and just needed to vent!

Any other early Jan sleevers running into speed bumps?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
