I know itching at the incision site is a good sign that I'm healing but OMGosh my itching is keeping me up at night. Anyone experience this as you were healing? Thank God I still have plasters on my incisions until Sunday but after that it will be soooooo tempting to scratch.

I know. I feel like a dog with flees sometimes. I can finally have a bath after 30 days so soaking helps me. But showers tend to help a little bit too when I could only have those. So many different things happen with this surgery I think it just takes time to get used to it all. I remind myself it will. We totally worth it all when I lose this weight.

Agreed. I have a few more days on liquids and looking forward to puréed lol.

I have put on an ab binder to help with the itching.

My sister gave me itch spray but it's for bug Bites and stuff so I'm scared to use it. It's witch hazel and aloe but im still scared. Im only 8 days out. They took the dressings off of mine the day after surgery. Which i thought weird but I'm glad they did cause the tape pulled skin off so there's that. It's just so itchy and my boyfriend is always telling me to stop scratching but he just doesn't know lol

I'm 9 weeks out and have been itchy for a couple of weeks now, especially my entire arms. My incision sites were never an issue. So weird. I started to lotion up a lot but it doesn't seem to help much.

Is it itchy and red? I had surgery on 09/06/16 and two days after all of my incision sites were red. I had an allergic reaction to the tape and/or glue.

At first I was told to put hydrocortisone cream and take Benadryl. It didn't work. It got worse and I found my self scratching around the sites all day. It was getting irritated.

The surgeon ended up giving me a cream with a steroid in it and that stopped the itching. It sounds like you may need that. Good luck. Don't scratch.

Just around it where I scratched in my sleep. 2 pieces of tape from my top incision are off and it doesn't itch just the other 5 across my belly do so it must be tape

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
