Moving forward & husband back on board

Recommended Posts

I sat down with my husband and told him my fears about my health and really why I needed this surgery and now he's back on 100%. He's even asking questions more and seems more interested in the surgery. I'm so excited for whats to come. My psych evaluation and nutrition appointment is coming in two weeks!! I've started back at the gym I'm already feeling my confidence coming back up :)

Good for you!

It blows my mind when I read all of these posts about husbands/wives/boyfriends/partners/etc. being anywhere from unsupportive to outright mean and hateful. I cannot imagine not supporting my partner in an endeavor to improve his health. I get that some people have a lot of insecurities, but what does it about that person (or the state of the relationship) when a good thing gets this kind of reaction??

@bilzair09 I think for my husband he was scared of the idea of them removing a portion of my stomach and the future of us having kids.

I'm so glad you sat him down and now he's on board. And it is good he is asking questions and educating himself. Sounds like he is going to be a good support system for you

Those are real reasons to have a conversation. My post was more of a commentary on the many (and I mean many) threads on here where people's partners are downright awful to them when they are just trying to make a positive step forward with their health and well-being.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
