Four Month Post Surgery Update

Recommended Posts

Hell again everyone, time for a new update since it has been four months since my 5/9/2016 surgery.

The stats:

High weight: 380

Weight at first visit: 365

Surgery Weight: 351

Current Weight: 249

In the four short months since surgery I have lost 102 lbs. Unbelievable. I have lost 131 since my all time high. I never would have thought this possible! SImply the best decision I've ever made and I would highly recommend to anyone looking to change their life.

I feel great and exercise a ton even though a have a badly injured knee that has me pretty hobbled. But I am DONE making excuses. Injured knee or not I am going to move and keep on moving! I walk > 3 miles per day and bike approx. 5 per day. It causes me some pain but I want to get to goal and stay there. Come winter when my local forest preserves become hard to walk i am going to start and strength training and Water aerobics/swimming. I might even try cross country skiing if my knee can handle it (I am going to post an update on my knee in the guys room if anyone is interested).

It is crazy the things I can do now that I couldn't a few short months ago. I'm canoeing, camping, hiking, walking, swimming. I'm enjoying new clothes I never would have worn before. Truly a life changer!

All the best everyone - go get em!

What a story! Awesome work.

I've lost a lot pre-op (93 pounds and counting), so I have been a little nervous about what my loss will be like after my September 28 surgery. Your story is giving me some comfort since you took off quite a bit pre-op, too.

All the best to you moving forward!

Wow well done. Inspiration! Just had preop today and I'll be staring my liquid diet somewhere around 375. I'd be stoked to see your kind of loss. I enjoy hiking and walking so looking very forward to the great outdoors. Congrats and thanks for the update.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
