Tomorrow marks 6 months since my bypass and I've lost 99lbs! Hoping the scale will move tonight so I can say 100lbs at 6 months!!!

Thank you! It is by far the best decision I have ever made. Following the plan got easier over time. I'm at a point now that the way I eat is the new "normal". I still have to make a conscious effort to get in my Protein and Water each day, but my options on how I do that are much more open these days. There are not too many foods I cannot eat and I try to maintain a balanced diet, not just Protein, even though that is #1. I eat lots of fruits and veggies, salads, and maybe a slice of bread every week or two. I find that I feel better, reduce digestive (bathroom) issues, when I vary my foods. I also still use shakes or I'd never reach my protein goals.

You look absolutely amazing!

Can I ask how tall you are? You look so similar to me (i'm about 5 feet tall) and I'm always trying to see if people are similar to me in height and build. You by no means have to answer!

What an inspiration :)

@@sammy246 I'm 5'2. With regards to build I carry my weight in my stomach and top half. I have no hips and have always had slimmer legs. I'm just now discovering my hipbones for the first time in my life!

You look fantastic. Well done. Can I ask when you went on to the puréed stage what was your portion size? I'm worried I'm eating to much. Thank you.

Hmm, I was only there for a week but I believe it was about 1/4 cup at a time. Depending on the density of the food I could eat more or less. For example, Beans were very filling so 2tbsp-1/4 cup. If it was sugar free applesauce I could eat 1/2 cup.

Thank you so much. I seem to be tolerating more than that and not full. Think I'm panicking about it too much.

Full is different now, not like before. It's more like done, or satisfied. It takes a while for your brain to recognize this change. Once you're back on solids will fall into your new normal and what works for you.

Yes that makes sense. Thank you that was really helpful. I need to accept and recognise what satisfied is. In the early days did you worry about 'getting it wrong' and it not working. I'm paranoid.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
