Final weigh-in and I'm terrified!

Recommended Posts

My surgery has finally been scheduled and I go for a 2 hour nurse education and final weigh in on Wednesday (09-07). I was told that even a 2lb weight gain since my last visit will cause my surgery to be cancelled. I started a liquid diet this past Wednesday and the scales aren't budging. This is the week before my period is due and I always put on 4-6 pounds of Water weight. I've been working toward gastric bypass surgery since last December as my insurance company has a list of requirements as long as my arm. I'm terrified that my surgery is going to be cancelled. I'm an emotional wreck.

Try not to get too stressed out. And good luck on your upcoming surgery.

@@DogRescuer - my pre-op weigh-in is September 7th as well and I have the same kind of stipulation in my bariatric workbook; I cannot gain any weight from my goal weight loss that was sent by the doctor or they could possibly cancel my surgery. I too was having issues with the scale going up-and-down and I emailed my dietician and she asked what my sodium intake was in a day. She indicated if you are on a low calorie diet you need to lower your sodium intake as well otherwise you will gain Water weight. A 1200 cal diet should get 1200 mg of sodium in and I'm not gonna lie it's really hard to do, but it if you can at least lower it from what you've been eating it should help. Also, try to increase your water intake per day. If you can drink a gallon (128 oz.) It should help too!! Best of luck to you!! ????????????

Tons and tons of Water will wash the sodium which is what causes that weight gain during your period.

And then try to reduce your sodium intake if you can that should help.

Try not to worry so much about it, we all have that fear........and for you, no food funerals! LOL. That could make it worse!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
