My bad. I posted the first day I joined when I didn't know the site very well. What's the RNY?

@@Jay Mack RNY is the bypass. @@bellalulu you don't have to quote each person, but sometimes it is helpful when posting on a larger thread to figure out to whom you are responding.

Thank you. I've heard it mentioned a few times but didn't know what was.

Hello guys my surgery date is 9/15. I started liquids on 9/1. I guess I'm a little better because I can have a meal for dinner and one snack a day. After day 3 the cravings disappeared, I've lost 4lbs since starting

Congrats BP! Kadi and I start the liquid diet tomorrow. I just went out and had a small ice cream with the family. Since April I'm down a waist size on my shorts, so I figured a small cup wouldn't kill me.

I had my first shake this morning and it tasted great. It was Bariatric Advantage vanilla flavored, with 8oz of Water. Much better than vanilla flavored Shakeology which I've tried previously and at less than half the price!

I've been drinking Vega One. It tastes terrible, but I feel like a million bucks after one, plus 6 servings of greens, and most of the Vitamins and minerals for the day. It tastes so much better with some sugar-free Torani. I usually do shakes in the morning, it's the rest of the day that'll be difficult. Plus we're building a retaining wall today...eep!

shakes and Water are all I get, no veggies or vitamins! It's amazing how everyone has a different diet leading up to the big Day!

That's why my shake has all my Vitamins (: I can have anything liquid, though. Stage 2 diet, basically.

Yes. My shake is the stage 2 diet. But I get 135g of Protein a day with it. Not hungry and I just went food shopping with the family. All stocked up on broth, popcicles, and Jello... Yes all sugar free!

I had to set my alarm for every 2hs to make sure I don't forget to eat. I read somewhere never allow yourself to get hungry. I'm going to have a problem because I don't like Jello or pudding. I forgot about the pop icons and could use something sweet right now. I think it's just boredom. I'm pooping like crazy .

broth is my friend . I completely forgot about the Popsicle. It's now on my shopping list. I'm going to try pedilyte Popsicles to see if it's tolerable. Something for post op instead of Gatorade.

I started my 2 week pre op diet too. The first week is all liquid with one meal a day, and the second week is all liquid. My bypass surgery is the same as bp, 9/15. I start on all liquids only in a couple of days. This is not easy, and I am starting to get nervous! Haven't been able to sleep well either.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
