September 12th Sleeve Surgery

I start my 7 days of shakes this Monday, 9/5, Labor Day and am excited for the surgery. However drinking the vanilla flavored "Bariatric Advantage" 5 times a day, 3 hours apart scares me. But it's all for the good of the end result.

What is the most difficult part of the first month post surgery?

I'm looking for a surgery Buddy.

It's nice to meet you and congrats on your three year Journey! That's quite a bio, however mine isn't quite as interesting. I did like your addition of menu items which I'm sure to try.

I'm having surgery on the 12th also. But for some odd and insane reason my surgery center had me on the liquid diet since last week. So it's three weeks on a liquid diet. I made through the first week and then yesterday had to have real Protein like chicken because I was about to faint. So it's back on the bans wagon for me today somewhat.

Good luck with your surgeries and hopefully we can all keep in touch. I'm totally bummed because I'm fighting a congested chest cold and a UTI so y body is all out of whack! Lol

Nice to meet you both. I'm on a str8 liquid diet, no bars for me, just Protein shakes. It ought to be interesting. I'm in Connecticut, where abouts are you two located?

I'm in California. Same here, starting Monday it's only liquid for me.

Hi. Im in Florida in Kissimee. And same here all liquids no bars or actual food. So I'm back on it tomorrow since technically I shouldn't have been off of it at all but i am on antibiotics so I had to have some veggies and protein. I'm only allowed one salad or veggies per day and that's it. I can have yogurts or milk w shakes but not both. So it's broth all I want and lots of Fiber supplements and my Vitamins. That's it. I will have another go at it tomorrow for the next days till my surgery. What got me going crazy is that since I am still on insulin I only last half a pound after one whole week of just liquids. So that was very very disheartening. Insulin is like a fat trapper. Lol.

So those of us on liquid diets this week and next, why don't we skype and have a group chat so we can keep each other motivated and supported? Let me know your thoughts. We should make this fun and not grueling as it was for me last week but actually it wasn't really that bad at all. And honestly, I couldn't fit in all those shakes in one day but all the other stuff was okay. If you keep up w the fiber between the meals it does keep you full. I can't even with 100 ounces of Water they want me to drink. Ugh.

I have a feeling I will be quite unpleasant this week. I've a touch of hypoglycemia, and tend to get rather cranky when I'm hungry. So not looking forward to it.

You're actually right! Lol as my husband will attest to my roller coaster moods. And I almost lost it on the last day when I did feel the actual hunger. And that was not a good day. Lol I think I almost cried to him about how hard it was that day. I'm just a wishful thinker and way too hopeful. Haha.

Ditto on that. Poor guy, I feel for both of them (my husband included). Also, just to be sure, you guys are getting the sleeve right? It's posted in bypass but said sleeve...

I'm having the RNY, my insurance didn't cover the sleeve. I know it says Gastric Bypass so that's why I posted here. I don't even know if I'm in the right forum. Oh, oh.

Also do I have to quote to whomever I am responding too? Or should I just respond?
