A new beginning is just ahead.

It's one that can be lots of fun.

The humorous moments started right away for me, too.

For a brief moment......as I woke up from surgery......I thought I'd gone on to a happy place.

My surgeon had three really attractive female med students in the room with him at all my final pre-op appointments. They were there in my room as I woke up. One of them.....absolutely stunning.....spoke as she smiled. I thought I was being attended by angels, lol.

At the two month point, my son demanded that get back to grilling. He said he was tired of frozen pizzas, fast food and microwave meals. I hit the shower, got dressed and went to the grocery store. I was wearing some Under Armour long gym pants. Evidently the weight of my car keys and wallet was enough to pull down my baggy UA pants while I was walking through the store. By down....I mean all the way down.....around my ankles while pushing the cart.

Funny times are ahead.

Enjoy yourself and make the most of getting lean and fit.

Thanks. I'm on here too dang much.....from phone....laptop, etc.

It's addictive......yet helpful for me. Life after wls is something that I need to talk about with someone. I almost never discuss it with folks outside of here because it's just something that they have no experience with.

We are all here going through similar times and can really relate.

It is really addictive and I have so many questions for pre and post op that could be answered on here. Most people in my life tell me, "why are you getting that, you're so young" they dont understand.

I'm in the same boat. One minute I'm excited next minute I'm scared sometimes I'm like yeah whatever, sometimes it's why did I wait this long. Then what am I doing. I have no real doubts. I am 100% ready for this but the emotions just roll.

I'm lucky to travel between now and Sept 19. I get to ride in a Tall Ship during a parade of sail. I might be able to go into a helo to take aerial photos of the event. I'm waiting game for final clearance in the latter. Staying in my favorite hotel for just about a week for work. Hopefully this will keep my mind busy for the most part.

I am having one big (ish) who cares meal at the melting pot. I've totally been craving this experience. I refuse to call it a "food funeral" because when I hit my goal and eating at whatever my normal diet will be, I should be able to eat a modified menu there if I choose to. Who knows I may not even want to.

Ack... it's coming soon. Lol

I'm in the same boat... my surgery is exactly a week from today on the 8th and I had a dream last night that really scared me... brought my anxiety up really bad. My husband just reminded me that its what I have been talking about non stop since March and that yeah its scary, any surgery is, but the benefits out weight those fears. He is right but I still find myself freaking out about complications and even death because I'm an over thinker like that lol. I'm sure once I'm out of surgery and everything I will laugh at how silly I'm being but until then I will probably continue freaking out because that's how I am.

I didn't have a "food funeral" but for my last meal prior to the liquid diet I had bacon wrapped shrimp. I will have them again but my wife will order them and i'll eat some of hers.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
