75 lbs. But a lot depends on where you start.

I totally agree with catwoman7. You can't really compare your results to others because there are so many factors (starting weight, metabolism, exercise ability, medical conditions etc) This is a journey. Keep the faith!

I lost 112.4 lbs. from the day of surgery to the 6 month point. My loss is a bit on the high side according to my surgeon. I think that it may be because I am a vegetarian, I worked out daily and I kept my calories between 400-800 a day. I also faithfully tracked all my food and daily weigh in's on MyFitnessPal.

Just updated my weight loss to date, etc and realized my BMI is now 30!!!! Yahoo! From HW at my first visit to today, it's a total of 102 ish pounds. I won't officially count 100 lost for another 8 lbs though- surgery date weight. But damn, I'm close! 40 to go!

Depends on which six months you'd like to know about:

In the first 6 months from pre-op diet starting on 2/9/16 until 8/9/16 I lost 137lbs.

In the 5.5 months since my RNY (3/21) I'm down 105lbs.

Edited to share the total: I'm almost exactly 7 months out from my starting weight of 333 and I've lost a total of 152lbs.

In 7 days I'll be at 6 months since my surgery. I was 243 day of surgery and 164 today so 79lbs. I started at 261 in January pre-op so I've lost a total of 97lbs!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
