I am still pre-op, so I can't really offer you any advice, but I can offer you some encouragement:

You can do it!

Write down a list of all the things you want to do after weight loss - use it as inspiration to get you through the difficult times during the pre-op diet. Eat and drink as much as allowed - don't wait until you are starving and more apt to grab something quick (not on plan). Be prepared and have allowed foods available at all times! Good luck.

That is a great idea. I'm going to use it. Thank you.

I start my presurgery diet tomorrow and a little nervous. Anyone have any advice before I start? I am so nervous.

Why are you nervous? Are you nervous about the surgery, the diet, or both?

The surgery was easier than I expected. My only challenges were the gas pains that lasted for almost 2 days and getting in enough liquid. My pre-op diet lasted for one week and was actually pretty easy. I didn't really feel miserable like some people say they felt. I made sure to drink at least 3 Protein shakes a day and eat about 2-3 light and fit yogurts a day. Also, drink plenty of fluids to keep yourself fuller longer. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
