It will get better! Surgery is hard on your body, and it's been some time since you had solid food. Keep working on the Protein and make sure you get as much Water as you possibly can. You'll feel better as time passes and your body adjusts. Keep posting and let us know how you're doing.

It's normal to be completely exhausted for several weeks after major surgery. Give yourself a break. Keep working on getting your Fluid and Protein in -- that's critical for your recovery and will help in restoring your energy levels. Go for short walks several times a day and nap when you need to.

Yep, as the others said it is unfortunately, pretty common. I had more energy the first week. By week two, it was pretty bad. But going into the third week-it was much better.

Hang in there, just follow doctor orders

It extremely normal to feel tired after any surgery; especially this one! Your body is used to eating a ton of carbs, plus it's working hard to heal you, so it's stealing energy. You will get better. I heard of people who were exhausted after the surgery, and then weeks later, they got a burst of energy!

It is normal to feel exhausted continue getting in as much Protein and Water as you can. I know the first couple of weeks getting 30 grams of Protein down seemed impossible. It gets better as time progresses. I got a burst of energy on week 3 and then lost it after doing several projects and cleaning my house. Week 5 is better I am having energy enough to make it to the gym and do a few things. Remember it takes time for your body to heal and adjust.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
