Trouble getting protein

Recommended Posts

I'm almost 3 weeks out and I have a big issue with getting Protein I just started puréed and I was thinking of buying sugar free ice cream and making a milkshake and see if that taste better with the Protein powder in it. I also considered making tuna salad and then blending up some but what ingredients can I put in it ? Because I like mind with light mayo, relish and shrimp so I'm curious if this is safe I called my dietitian but she's not in until Tuesday

If you blend it anything is probably going to be tolerated. The sugar free ice cream still might have too many calories to be a good choice, I think it's something like 70 calories for 2g of Protein per service. A yogurt smoothie might work well for you.

The tuna blend looks fine, keep an eye on the amount of mayo and relish you add since those are just extra calories.

Ricotta cheese and cottage cheese are also really good for the pureed stage. There's a recipe floating around for a ricotta bake which is basically a lasagna without noodles that I mostly lived off of during the pureed stage.

Try putting sugar free Torani syrups in your Protein Shake. I found some Almond Roca which is heavenly in a chocolate Protein shake. I also put small amounts of fruit in vanilla shakes - stick with berries. No bananas as they are way too many carbs. I also bought some high protein Soups from my surgeon's office. Ask you nutritionist if they have some or you can order from this website also. They are tasty and filling. I got real tired of having only sweet stuff when I was in the liquid stage so that's when I found the soups. You can do it!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
