Feeling frustrated-Not going to meet the goal

Recommended Posts

Remeber this is just a goal! You will loose more when time gets closer and you go to full liqyid diet. Trust me!! Im a nurse and panicked also. I lost 5 pounds the first month. The NUT put me on partial liquid with one meal a day. Did the trick. I havent even started the process of full liquid. I see surgeon friday to schedule. I still havent hit my "goal".

It sounds like you're talking about the pre-op process......the original poster is post op. :-) She won't be going back to liquids.< /p>

Sounds like you're doing well. Good luck on your upcoming surgery.

Lol. Oops :)

This goal sounds like a "maximum" you could potentially reach, not a minimum. Besides, what is he going to do if you don't make goal? He can't take the surgery back. :) Just track and record food and activity and take it to your apppointment. When he sees your sincere effort, he may be able to help you better.

Whoa! Nobody should eat 600 calories a day if they can help it. Your metabolism will be seriously screwed up if you maintain that. My program calls for 1200 a day as soon as you can get that much in.

Dear Lord! If you ate nothing but 600 calories a day for any length of time, your body would learn how to maintain its functions on 600 calories a day. You can't sustain that kind of restriction for very long without getting sick, so as soon as you go back above 600 calories a day, guess what happens. You GAIN weight. Be careful and take care!

Message board Bastille Day glitchiness?

This morning I received a PM from a new member (we were mid-conversation) who said she could see I'd replied to her previous PM, but she couldn't open it.

I then replied back (twice), and she received and could open both of those PMs.

Weird!

(Returning to your regularly scheduled programming.)

Have you tried upping your Protein a bit? Personally, I would try for closer to 75 grams than 65 grams, if you aren't willing to increase your protein.

Hello all. Today I had a follow up appt. with my surgeon and he said I should be following a 600 cal. no carb diet. Do any of you follow such a strict diet?

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

@sleever068. How long ago did you have your surgery? I was on Clear liquids only the first 2 weeks after my surgery. Then the 4 weeks after that I was on soft / mushy foods and Protein. shakes. Those first weeks on soft foods I could probably only eat about 600 calories a day because of the swelling from the surgery. At that point most of what I ate was Protein.

At my 6 week follow up I asked how many calories I should eat and was told 1200-1400!! Since I can't eat that much in a day I usually eat between 800-1100 calories. I am now 2 months out. I try to eat 60-80 grams of protein and eat fruit once a day and grains 1-2 times a day.

My surgeon recommends eating a balanced diet and of course I take Vitamins, Calcium and Iron supplements.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
