My work here is done

Recommended Posts

Well, just so y'all know, in case you didn't already, I'm only here to ogle the hawt guys, and when I'm feeling down, to get a pat on the butt back.

And to throw out the phrase "beg your pardon" every now and then, since that provoked an epic rant the first time I did it.

Sharon, our eyes are still up here ;-)

I think Bacongate 2016 should be a distant memory and a reminder that our tools are not a cure. It was a reminder to me to never let my guard down and be on the constant lookout for food addiction to rear its ugly head. I have learned from bacon girl who by the way has finally admitted that eating bacon a week out was a mistake. However, still being very defensive. I think she scared me into never letting my guard down. For that I'm grateful, at least.

Why we can't just leave the bacon alone she said that the doctor got on to her. You learn from your mistakes. I think she got it.... she was really asking for help. So, please leave it alone. If you look in the mirror you are being a bully. We are here for help. I'm happy she told us because someone else has made a mistake but to scared to say something. Her doctor wouldn't have known if she did not tell him.

you know, it's really fine to say you wish people would drop it - but I really don't think being horrified by someone's poor choice constitutes being a bully.

If you post something here asking for advice, it becomes a part of the ongoing discussion. I think the bacon refuses to die because people were just shocked, quite frankly. It will run it's course eventually. That's all I have to say about that.

Well this is sad. I'm a newbie, just started the process and to read this makes me feel like there is no support here. I'm glad there are vets here. I read a lot of old post and vet post to get good info. U shouldn't just punish all for a few.

Eh, don't let a website dust up blow you away. There will be bigger fish to fry down the road. (Well "fry" might not be the right word, I actually want it blackned or baked now) ;-)

I'm new here. I'm 45yrs old. I need help. That is why I joined this group. That is why I asked help yesterday and I got it. There is no way I would eat bacon after week after having surgery. I want my health to get better not worse but stupid stuff just because of my cravings that I can surely wait a few weeks for.

@@Kindle I was you would reconsider I am a newbie and I need people like you for the support.

God Bless

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
