Recommended Posts

I did it!!!! I hit twoville!!! Wooohooo!! So excited that this stall is over!! ~~~happy dance~~~ Now to get my membership at the YMCA!! Do any of you work out at the YMCA in Des Moines?

Congrats Lucky!!! I chose to work out at home due to schedule conflicts. Sometimes i workout at 9 pm if thats what i have to do. I am concentrating on resistence bands more than anything. Then i walk as much as i can on the days that I can. Down 55 pounds in 3 months!!! Still staying below 50 carbs daily and getting 80 grams Protein in...with 100 oz of Water daily!!! I have so much energy its unbelievable.

Hope everyone else is doing great and having a wonderful weekend.

Anyone doing surgery with Dr. Todd Eibes?

Sent from my 0PM92 using the BariatricPal App

Welcome jess!! I have not heard of Dr. Eibes...where from??
He is with Iowa weight loss specialists, located on West Des Moines and Belmond. He does surgery only in Belmond though. Great place, great person, I'm scheduled for the 21st and they let you stay in the hospital the night before surgery just to ease your mind. I'm excited.

Ok I'm totally freaking out now about my pre op liquid diet. I start this on December 1st.

How long is your preop liquid diet? I did a 1,200 calorie diet and only had to do two days of liquid diet right before surgery. Try to stay focused on your goals. Liquid diets aren't fun but it's important so surgery goes well. You can do this!! Remember, that liquid diet is only temporary and it's a step closer to your goals.

One thing that helpes me post op was I made a list of all the things I could do onstead of eat and picked one everytime i was dealing with head hunger. This way u dont habe to think ul something....just pick from the list. Good luck and we are here if you need encouragement!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
