  4. Mindi and nana I am doing well. Its been 4 months...down 70 pounds. For 98% of the time i am so happy that i did this. For the other 2% of the time i have moments when I just want to eat or drink normally again. I dont worry about anything right now except getting my head right. I get all my Protein in...even if i have to eat tuna 5 days a week. I take my Vitamins and drink 80 oz of Water every day. I walk 3-5 days a week. I want to ramp up my exercise but it is difficult with kids and work. So overall its just my life now. I dont worry about going out to eat or the holidays. I just stick to my plan and keep working on the mental piece as i have a lot to learn about myself!

  13. Okay...so we all know that our mind is the real beast to tame during this process. I find myself essentially eating the same foods week after week. I do this because right now i am focusing on my mental changes and i can cook new things at any time. I figure we have a"honeymoon period" for a reasona nd I am using it to my fullest capacity. My clothes are getting to big and i had to cut my hair off because it is falling out! I just took a new side by side because i dont see anything when i look in the mirror and that is totally discouraging! Some days i am frustrated that i can only eat 1/2 cup of food and some days i dont care if i eat at all. I have been riding this rollercoaster for more than 30 years and i continue to ride now. I want you all to know that you can do this...you are strong enough...you are worth it! As i say goodbye to 70 pounds at the 4.5 month mark....i say.... Here is to 2017...lets make it great!!!
  14. Oh pammy sorry to hear that????
  15. Good luck to nana and pammy!!!! So exciting!!! I hope all goes well and recovery is short! Keep us posted!
  16. Merry christmas everyone! Good luck on all stages of your new lifestyle (not diet)! 2017 here we come!!!
  17. Glad to hear that you are starting to feel a little better. Everyday will get better I promise! Keep up the good work!
  18. Pammy and nana you can and will do this. These few weeks from before surgery to about week 4 post op are the hardest. U will battle head hunger but embrace those moments and learn what your triggers are. U will both do great and remember if you need anything just ask!
  19. Mindi....This is soooo important after surgery too!!! I struggled and basically surgeon told me nothing else matters if u cant get water in!!!! Good luck!!!
  20. Welcome jazzyjay!!!!
  21. Congrats mindi!!! Keep up the great work!
  22. Coconut oil works great for the dry skin!!!! Just lather it on like lotion.
  23. Welcome Pam! My name is jessica. Had surgery on 8/15/16 with dr. Cahalan in Des Moines. I am so excited for those of you having surgery soon. It is a crazy, difficult journey but at almost 4 months out I can honestly say I would do it again in a minute and wish I would have done it when I was 20 instead of 42. Cheers to your journeys!!!
