Hello! I was wondering if I could find out from others whether or not you found yourself just irritated with everything. Rude people, crazy drivers, family members and even myself are making me crazy! I used to be a patient person, but I will react pretty angrily to things now, and I don't mean to. I don't like when I'm this way. I'm 4 weeks post op and still having some problems with swallowing liquids and pureed stuff. I guess I'm feeling like its never going to get better right now. Being on a liquid diet for going on 3 months, its kinda depressing. I'm just getting frustrated. Am I going crazy or is this normal and should I just go with the flow? I try not to get angry about little things but its like I have no control anymore.

Fat stores hormones. As you lose fat, those hormones get flushed back into your body and can cause you to feel sad/weepy, angry, depressed, crazy...

Just try to remember that, and to warn close friends and family that your moods might be a little off. Take a moment when you feel like things are getting crazy and remind yourself that it's just hormones and take some deep breaths and find something else to distract you from the bad stuff so you don't go off on someone (or yourself) too harshly.

Sorry you are experiencing this. I've heard others talk about the mood swings that can come in the early rapid weight loss stage, and I'm really worried about it. I have a bit of a temper anyway and I've had issues with anxiety and depression throughout my life, so I feel like this could definitely be an issue for me. I've already warned my husband that I could be really emotional during the first month or two.

I don't think it will last forever, so hopefully it will pass and you'll start feeling better!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
