Miss Real Food! [emoji23]

It's been 13 days post op. And I am starting to miss real food. Will I ever get to eat again? To at least have the taste of everything..I use to enjoy: tacos,fajitas,Chick-fil-A and it goes on. I feel pretty good right now being 13days post op and I have been very strict with my liquid diet. But I miss real food. help?!

I've seen the ricotta bake, but it requires tomato sauce and my doctors plan wants me to stay away from that. Do any of your doctors say no to sauce?

My dietician is cool with all seasoning, she said that all I need to monitor is how I react to them!

pureed stage, try mashed up avocado; you can use it mixed with tuna or chicken breast (canned), or mix with mashed up hard boiled eggs. Delicious!

Breaking up with food was the hardest part of this whole journey for me. And even a year+ out, I still miss food. Some days are worse than others but it's still a struggle.

Food is involved in so much - social events, celebrations, traditions. I know how my brain works and I have to be really restrictive because I cannot have just one bite - especially of certain things. It's actually easier to avoid the bad stuff entirely than it is to fight with myself if I have a bite. I have very minimal self control.

I LOVE my new body though...and I've loved seeing the progress that comes with being good. You need to break up with food the same way you'd have to break up with an abusive relationship. it hurts for a long time...you miss it...you think you need it for comfort and support. Truth is, you don't. You'll be happier and healthier without the junk. You'll find your 'zone' and you'll feel so amazing when you stay in the zone, you won't want to stray.

You can read about my food break-up on my blog if you like - www.gastricallydifferent.blogspot.com.

I am on full liquids and I am allowed tomate soup, I am 5 days post op. What I don't get is I can have hot cereal and oatmeal isn't that more pureed....I just want these two weeks to pass so I can start eating semi normal again. I find every surgeon has different advice.
