It’s time for a little self-love and appreciation! We can spend so much time and energy being upset about how we look and wishing our bodies were different that it’s easy to lose sight of the things we love about our bodies.

You can gain a lot when you focus on something positive. Remembering what you love about yourself can increase your motivation to get and stay healthy. If it’s something that you noticed as you lost weight, remembering it can remind you how far you’ve come and how much your hard work is paying off.

So, which body part do you love the most? Is it your face with a pretty smile? Is it your calves that are starting to show now that you’ve been working out? Is it your elbow that’s now visible?

Wow, this is actually the first time since surgery that I've thought about this. I guess I would say that as I lose weight and my face thins out, I can now see cute dimples and high cheekbones. Turns out I actually have a nice facial structure. Who knew?! :P

That, and my hands. I've always had "baby hands" (thanks mom. :P) with dimples in my knuckles. My hands are still chubby but I can now see bones and tendons, and when I see my hands in pictures I sometimes find myself thinking "hmm, you almost can't tell I'm overweight anymore." It's weird, and very nice. :)

my eyes

but since WLS I would have to say the whole package. EVERYTHING is easier. my body feels better, it moves better and according to the people I love, even looks better. I'm quite happy to have a waist and a neck again. ;-)

After all is said and done, my favorite body part is my brain. Whether I'm fat or thinner, it has remained sharp and on point.

If I can learn to listen to my brain more and my hormones less, I know I will be able to stay focused on my WLS journey.

I was side tracked for so many years when I was listening to my heart and hormones. My brain tried--really tried to "reason me way out of the fog

When I finally stopped blaming myself for circumstances beyond my control, took a deep breath, looked at my world rationally, I could almost hear my brain "sigh" as if to say, "finally, Girl. It's about time you heard me".

I am ever so grateful that I did.

Yes. I am most fond of my brain. :)

I love how my collarbones show now and how narrow I think I look shoulder to shoulder.

I love my curves, I love my butt, my arms, my legs, the upper part of my stomach (lol had a baby). My lips, my smile, my eyes. Just want to be in a healthier frame. This was good, thank you:)

My hips. I've always loved my hips, even when I was obese. I love laying on my side in bed and seeing how they curve to give me that hourglass effect.

I love my brain. I also love my hips and my butt. Even at my highest I like that my butt was round and pretty high up. I like my face as its thinning out and my long fingers that are less fat now.

<---- Look at me!! There is nothing about me that isn't awesome. :D

And if you take the time to KNOW me as a person, you'd also agree. I may be loud mouthed, opinionated and blunt, but my heart is where it should be.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
