Thanks everyone for your support and sympathy. How are you doing loriely, lisa and Donna.

Lisa, have you tried filling in Fitday. When you put in your daily food intake, you can click on 'reports' and you will find if you are getting proper nutrition. I use it daily and it has helped me tremendously. Doddie

Hi Doddie

I'm doing okay. How about you? Where can I find this Fitday you are referring to. It sounds interesting.

Hi Donna D. Go to FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal. Jill uses recommended it to me. Also, I was advised to go to NutritionData.com NutritionData's Nutrition Facts Calorie Counter and use the calories burned calculator. I found for my weight and sedentary lifestyle I will maintain my weight if I eat 2,315 calories a day and that I need 96g of Protein. WOW I am only eating 1200 a day so now I know why I am still loosing weight. Doddie

Hi Peaches

Yes I had the port moved down about 3 - 4 inches from where it was. It is much better now. Your weight loss is fantastic! Keep up the great work.

xo

p.s. Will you be at the Sept 16th lunch at the Sierra Grill at Bayview Village Mall?:hungry:

Doddie thanks for the link to fitday - I know I'm only a few days away from being banded, but I've had some trouble getting enough Protein in at this stage - not much Protein in broth - and I think this is partly why I am so tired and still having some discomfort. I know I won't heal without enough protein, so I've been consciously adding Protein powder to my yogurt and 1% milk - not my favorite drink, but it will do.

Also I'm noticing foods seem much saltier than they used to (this from a "saltaholic" - I had some Knorr Cream of Broccoli Soup and couldn't believe how salty it was.

Does anyone know how much protein we should be aiming for in the healing stage?

Cindy

Doddie63 - my condolences on the loss of your brother it must be hard for you right now and I'll keep you and yours in my prayers.

All - Doddie is absolutely right about Fitday. I tried the free version online for about 2 weeks and then decided to purchase the software and I now have the whole program on my computer. It is such an eye opener!! I'm averaging about 1500 cal a day and I know that it's too much but I'm not yet at full restriction and I'm still losing (Fitday says I have to consume approx 1600 cal per day to continue losing). I'm below that and working very hard to reduce it to the lapband recommended 1200 calories. I highly recommend this software. Cheers.

I have been using the free software as well - what are the benefits to buying the whole product? As I am only on full fluids, I am averaging about 680 calories - the scale had better be moving down - but I'm staying off it until Friday.

Hi Cindy:

The software is a lot more detailed. The food database is bigger, the breakdown of foods consumed is more detailed, there is a place for your measurements, a diary, a mood log, an activity explorer and an activity log. I really like it.

Hi Doddie,

Sorry to hear about the loss of your brother. I'm happy that you are using coping strategies to keep from binging. Stress and emotional eating are very common and finding ways to combat them is very important on our journey. Knowing its going to happen and preventing it is half the battle.

Know that we are all here for you.

Hugs, Bear

Thanks everyone for your support on my brothers death. I have been coping and no weigh gain although my weight is very slow in coming off. I am averaging about 3 lbs or less a month but the big giant step I have made is I am not PBing as much any more. About once in the last two weeks because I didn't chew properly. I am now thinking about another 1 or 2 ccs to give me more restriction. I am at 4 ccs now.

I do know that my progress has been helped by FitDay and tracking is not such a burden with this program. It is amazing what our eye estimates to be one cup and what a real one cup measured is. Doddie

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water. Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
