Mermaid out of water! (My journey)

  • Popular Post

I figured this would be a good place to chronicle my experience and steps. It feels comforting to know that I found a community with other people who have done the same thing, as well are going through it now.

My journey has been a long one, I started this process back at the end of 2014 and having surgery next week. A mixture of turning 26 / finding insurance / anxiety and many other things have made this quite the long journey!

I am sorry for rambling! I am very excited to be here but a bit shy. I have surgery on June 8, 2016 in Tampa Florida. I have been put on a two week diet of 2 8oz Protein drinks a day, 1 4oz solid protein and 1/2 of leafy green vegetables a day. I find this diet restrictive and confusing, however I never gathered the courage to call to see if I could eat a more variety of vegetables.

Currently I am drinking Isopure Protein Drinks, I have tried Pure Protein and Lean Body but both made me extremely nauseous after drinking them multiple times a day a few days in a row. I've been enjoying ISOPURE quite a bit.

For the stats from what I read last

149 pounds to go!

I decided to make a bullet list and give myself small goals along the way.

Figured I'd give myself a little bit of an update.

NSV: pair of shorts are falling off of me!

As I go ahead moving on this journey, I do not know if I want my goal weight to be 150. I will see how my body goes and find a weight that I will be comfortable with.

Going back to work is really hard, I've been having intense stomach pains that only happen there. It might be from the anxiety I feel about my job in general.

I had no coverage and paid out of pocket; therefore I didn't have to jump through hoops and do ANOTHER pre-surgery diet. I'm down roughly 20 pounds since surgery 6/8. I had my first comment from an acquaintance that I looked thinner ????. Are you eating purée? Regular foods? I am looking for a new Vitamin too.

That's absolutely wonderful! I am eating puree at the moment and I absolutely hate it! The texture is so off putting. Tuesday will be my last puree day.

It's been awhile since I did an update! I had a stall for about 3 weeks that had me freaked out. Things have been going well, work is still keeping me permanently exhausted.

Getting ready to go to a wedding in October and it's nerve wracking because I need to find a nice dress since I'm a bridesmaid.

I've lost a total of 60 pounds and I'm super proud. I'm starting to be able to fit into clothes I had a few years ago and cleaning out my closet. I'm also able to put on some rings that did not fit for the longest time.

Some other things I've noticed is I feel more comfortable laying down than I have in a long time. A lot of people I work with say I look great.

Oh man! I've been super neglecting of this place here! Since the start of October I've been on forced over time for work requiring between 10-15 more hours per week. Due to this it's been very stressful and I end up working 12 hour shifts.

Still weight is going in the right direction and I am proud!

I am .3 pound away from losing a total of 80 pounds which is excellent!

Good luck everyone :)
