  1. I had no coverage and paid out of pocket; therefore I didn't have to jump through hoops and do ANOTHER pre-surgery diet. I'm down roughly 20 pounds since surgery 6/8. I had my first comment from an acquaintance that I looked thinner ????. Are you eating purée? Regular foods? I am looking for a new Vitamin too. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  2. Nice!!!! One pound at a time... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Dr. Dietrick switched to Florida Hospital Physicians Group. Moved down the hall too. Perhaps that has something to do with it. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  4. I had my 2 week post op today. Feeling pretty much back to normal, everything healing well. Dabbling in purée and bites of mushy foods. Bought a Fitbit (if you knew me you'd know that's completely out of character for me ). I live in Brooksville. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  5. I'm so completely over Protein shakes, too. The only one I don't have to choke down is the slim fast advanced (the 20g protein one) in caramel latte. Best day: went to Outback with the family for Father's Day and had myself a very tasty, delicious and satisfying bowl of French onion Soup broth. Ordered it without cheese (the best part) or bread or even the onions. And I'm sure the sodium was high, but damn that was sooooo good! First time I've felt satiated since surgery! Fusion Vitamins

I have the Optisource chewable Vitamins, they are very chalky and when I chew they paste up in my teeth I've been crushing them in a pills crusher, and I find they dissolve a little better in my mouth that way. I put in a medicine cup and "tap" a little in my mouth at a time, and chase it with Water. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  7. Ha! you must've been in a neighboring room, I was in 503. He had an emergency case that delayed my procedure until about 4:00, was scheduled for 11:00. I've been feeling better than I expected to, now that I've got the small sip thing down. At first I was very uncomfortable and felt bloated and distended. I just returned from Publix, and boy do I wish I could have something other than a friggin shake! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  8. Dr. Dietrick, done at Florida Hospital Tampa, you? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    3days post op

I'm hungry! Hubby and the fam had chicken and rice last night and I had a mini meltdown, chose not to even sit the table with them. It smelled so good. And these shakes are getting monotonous. On the positive side, I've had less bloating and discomfort sip...sip...sipping. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    What to bring to hospital?

I stayed in 2 hospital gowns (front and back) and those stylish hospital grippy socks the whole time. You will be expected to walk the halls. I felt covered just fine and IDGAF anyway I had my iPad, iPhone and a neck pillow that I used a bit when sitting up. I slept every time I was given hydrocodone, on and off all day and night. I went home in the yoga pants and tshirt I arrived in. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Day2

Hi all, I was sleeved 6/8 and just came home last night. I'm feeling great (considering) but I feel bloated when i drink H2O. Today I'm going to try more little sips to see if I experience fewer "fizzy bubbles" and discomfort. I, too, noticed that cold water/ice was more uncomfortable than room temp but haven't tried a warmer beverage yet. Just curious, have many of you announced your VSG to the world, or kept it private? I'm struggling with this...I've only shared this with my hubby and my BFF.
