Hard lump near main incision?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I am 2 weeks post op and I have had this hard lump near my main incision site. I've noticed it about 4-5 days ago. It is about the size of a golf ball and mainly bothers me when I get into bed and my body bends and it almost "squishes" it. The incision site looks very good. It is not red or anything. It is a little warm to the touch but not hot.

I called my Dr's office and they said that it is normal at the main site and that it is scar tissue. I just want to see if others have had this and if it was in fact scar tissue or something else. I can't believe scar tissue would be the size of a golf ball already. I'm concerned it might be something else.

Thanks!

I think that scar tissue can begin to form rather quickly but I'm with you in that I wouldn't think that it should be that size this soon. When do you go back in for follow up?

Totally agree with Jen - Im 6 weeks out and have a couple of hard lumps - scar tissue. It wont go away for a while.... i can still feel mine. I had them checked out by the Doctor and all is going well - just part of the healing process, so don't stress :-)

Thank you so much for this site, I had a lot done so I have 11 incisions and only one with a lump, and puckering. I'll still call the doctor but good to hear it happens

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
