So surgery is set for June 1st. Had all my preop tests done on Friday. Got clearance from my PCP & a pulmonologist I had to find at the last minute (because I don't go to one nor has my surgeon mentioned one until last week). Now I get an email asking if I did my upper endoscopy - no I didn't. More than likely forgot all about it didn't know it was necessary. Well if I don't get that done before the 1st then my surgery will be rescheduled a few months from now!! I'll admit I honestly didn't remember about it but noone reminded 3 weeks ago when I was in the office for my preop appointment?! So now if it can't be done (not looking good right now) I have to rearrange alot & go thru this crap all over again. Don't know what to do...just frustrated

Ask them to assist you in getting that scheduled right away. They are the ones who have to order these tests and should be making sure you receive them. It sure seems like someone there may have dropped the ball.

You made it this far do not give up. Call get on a cancellation list for appointment for the procedure. People cancel all the time. Call explain your situation to that department. Just never know until you try. Sometimes our lesser self wants to keep us stuck and looks for anyway to defeat our greater purpose/goal. Just push. Do you have a case manager? Get them in the conversation so they can do some inner dept. communications. Take a deep breath. I began this process the first time in 2009 only to be denied and it took me to this year to get back in the program. I am being sleeved June 8th. Anyway, will hold good thoughts for you just fight it.

Take care and good luck you can do this!

-M

I know there is a hospital by me that has an endoscopy suite... I'm thinking if you located one at a hospital near you they maybe a slim chance they know of a doctor who could squeeze you in... Unfortunately sometimes you just can't depend on the doctors office to move things along... Good luck

I had everything scheduled and I was supposed to be done with all my pre-op on 5/3 and my insurance got messed up and cancelled in error. Sooooo after the doctor's office cancelled several appointments I had to fight to get it fixed and now I will be done with all my pre-op on 6/15.....They won't even schedule my surgery till then so it sounds like I won't have surgery till August or September.... I completely get your frustration. I have been working for this since last December

I'm still checking around for a place. If not I'm okay with the fact I'll have to wait. Thank you all for the suggestions & encouragement. Sometimes you feel like you're the only one who had last minute setbacks but it's good to see others have & others have overcome them.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
