I don't know what else to do, my weight keeps going up regardless of working out daily and counting calories. My insurance doesn't cover WLS so we're thinking going to Mexico.

Has anyone with pcos and constant weight gains has success with the sleeve?

There are several who have been successful. Do a search on PCOS and you should find a few interesting threads. I have been dieting for a month for my supervised weight loss program requirement for insurance and I lost 1 lb the entire month. So frustrating BUT my Nutritionist said not to worry - I will lose after WLS.

I was diagnosed with PCOS decades ago. I had the Lap Band in 2004 and was successful in my weight loss. Had some issues and had band removed and am getting sleeve on 5/25. I suspect I will be able to lose weight then also. Hang in there - WLS should help.

Are you reaching your Protein goals and drinking at least 60oz of Water a day? I have to have 72g of Protein everyday (based on height I'm 5'8) and most days I reach 90g of protein and have been doing this for the year. I have been waiting 2 years for the surgery (in Canada) and lots of Water is very important. Follow other wls people on instagram and they all drink over 100oz of water in a day and are successful. I think I have pcos also but only self diagnosed cause I didn't know what it was until recently. If your working out and gaining weight you could be building muscle resulting in gains, just try walking and cardio.

I was just at the Doctor for this with my daughter. They said the best thing to do is a low glycemic diet and to get lots of Omega 3 (they recommend metagenic brand). Also weight lifting and burst exercises. Eat Protein an low GI veggies every two hours and within 30 minutes of waking.

I have PCOS and I gained weight- honestly I wasn't trying too at all. So the goal became maintain- I had to diet to maintain. Trust me I can't loose weight- during weight loss supervised visits I ultimately lost 2lbs. :/ However between my last weight loss appointment and surgery I had 3 months. (Surgery is next week) during this time I started planning what changes I could make to really help me post-op. I discovered the Ketogenic Diet. So I thought I'm going to start trying it now. Honestly I hadn't ever tried this diet before and it seemed different. I have PCOS and 2 kids with Autism and I've lost 10 pounds. Now I know I've lost weight on the liquid diet so I'll have to see how much tomorrow. Metformin ultimately helped me treat symptoms of PCOS and loose weight- perhaps talk to your PCP about that. But I have learned for me - I can nearly zero sugar in my diet that includes artificial sugar or I won't loose at all and will slowly gain. Best of luck. I never binged really and was a fast food eater - but a total emotional eater I am. We on this board know BMI is complex thing and it doesn't always translate into this person just eats junk and doesn't try. Keep your head up

I have pcos and I'm only going to be 20 years old in a few days. Surgery is this Thursday (19th). I was told my symptoms would subside and regulate once I lost weight. I gained weight. Lost it then always gained it back. Also the other symptoms, hair growth skin darkening are simply horrible.

I could really use some support as I'm getting nervous, any would be much appreciated and returned.

Good luck to you guys. Hope to hear from anyone -

@@taylorgonzaless Good luck with your surgery (it's on my Birthday)! :-). I can only say that looking back - I wish I had the surgery in my 20's. I wasted 25+/years battling obesity and my life has been negatively effected. WLS should really help with PCOS. Just be careful as it can increase fertility as well so be safe!

I was diagnosed with pcos at about 12 years old and had the worst time trying to lose weight or even maintain it! I was sleeved 8 days ago and am down 22 lbs!! It is a TOOL, that's all it is. You have to have the will power to help it along.

I have PCOS, I'm 25. Was sleeved January 15th and have lost 60lbs so far. Surgery works. Get it if you can. Trust your program and the food schedule.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
