I hate to be a "negative nancy" but I am so ready for this ill feeling to be over. I researched and researched this surgery but never knew I would feel this sick. 4 weeks post op and I am still struggling with liquids. Protein? Ha that's a joke. I we a teaspoon of tuna and ended up in pain with vomiting.

Down 40 pounds but so not worth it. I use to swim and enjoy life and now I'm too embarrassed to be around anyone. I'm physically able to go to work but I don't feel I would be as productive.

I'm dizzy all the time, exhausted and thirsty. My poor husband must be tired of all the suppositories and enemas. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

when do you have your one month check up? I think that is more trouble than would be normal.

Wow. It sounds like you are really struggling. What does your surgeon suggest?

It sounds like some of the difficulties that you are having go beyond what most people are experiencing at 4 weeks - a teaspoon of tuna bringing pain and vomiting; being exhausted and thirsty all the time... and that would bum me out too. I would call the surgical team and describe your troubles and see if they can advise you over the phone or want you to come in.

I totally agree do see your dr tuna may be not for you just yet even if told u can have it tummy won't always agree I know this from experience the first few weeks and months weren't easy nor fun it's a long process at times to get back to eating normal food I was weak as well for 7 weeks I had to force myself to get up and do things if only for a few mins at a time when I went back to work I thought I wouldn't make it as I take care of a very large private home I got lucky in the fact that they happened to be away for 2 weeks and I was able to go at a slower pace but was very tired for months after I'm 15 months out now sleeved I'm biking now something I haven't done since I was 19 I promise it will get better it doesn't seem like it but it will good luck

I never had that much trouble, I'm so sorry. I would visit your surgeon if you haven't already.

It sounds like you can't get adequate nutrition in at all at this point.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
