This is it.... I am going in. Sitting waiting for my mom to come pick me up to go to the hospital. Seems unreal. Wish me luck!

Surgery went well, laying in bed half asleep. I already took my first walk to the nurses station and back and my room is towards the end of the hall. I dont have much pain, just the incision on the left hurts. Im trying to stay more awake so i don't use drugs as much. Cant eat anything just sucking on a little ice cube once an hr. My mouth is super dry. I think its a mental thing, im not hungry but if i would be told that i can eat i would.

Good Luck in your weigh loss!

You will feel pain when not taking the pain meds or when the meds start to wear off which is usually after 3 hours, but be strong its only the first few days. I remember that when I was in pain from not being able to pass gas while in the hospital I had thoughts of regret of getting the surgery, but would remind myself it would soon pass and I would feel better. Well here I am on day 8 and 13lbs down already with little to no pain at all. Keep it up!

Thanks guys. Finally at home got discharged yesterday. Definitely less pain today, easier to sit and stand up except when i try to get out of bed. Haven't used any pain meds today . Ive been trying to finish this 1/2 cup of yogurt for the past 40 min but i think im going to leave it for lunch. Im afraid to get on the scale still cuz when was in the hospital i was 5 lb heavier. Hurts to cough

Same here. I had mine on the 20th. The pain isn't horrible. I do find myself needing a pain pills by mid day. I'm severely struggling with the Protein shakes. I can drink Water fine. Just not much of it. The shakes gross me out completely post surgery. Since Wednesday I'm down 9 pounds. I feel weak and have the complete and utter desire to eat. Eat anything! -Something. It's the strangest feeling. The only word I have for it is: overwhelming. Someone will ask how I feel... I tear up, wanting to cry! I have no desire to speak words out of my mouth, it's like it is a hassle. Surely this will all pass...

I feel ya, i would feel good and all the sudden in the middle of the day i would be in a lot of pain. My incisions are getting better they still kind of itch, but i guess they are healing. Last night though I almost fainted, i found my self in a cold sweat thinking i am going to throw up, but i laid down drank a sip of Powerade and it made it better. Im sick and tired of this liquid diet, i haven't had too many Protein shakes... I usually do greek yogurt or chocolate pudding. Got myself some panera Soup 1/4 cup is not too much in calories. Im not hungry, sometimes i have to make myself eat. I think I'm down 15 lb today is my 1 week post op, i have my dr. Apt tomorrow, but i can tell in my clothes that i have lost some weight. Hang in there it's worth it! There was a time in the beginning when u wanted this for many different reasons keep thinking of that time. It gets better!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
