What is your dietician recommending?

Initially I was on Optifast plus Sustagen,

Now a high Protein shake for women. The regular high Protein shakes were in too large containers and too expensive for experimenting with.

I am in 5th week post op, and upping my Proteins.

Good luck :)

My NUT gave me a list of good Protein drinks. Be careful of the sugar content in some. Here's a few recommendations...

MetRx Original Meal Replacement

Bariatric fusion Meal Replacement (gave me a sample but haven't tried it yet)

Nitro-Peak 50x

Isopure

Look for "Isolate" supplements. Avoid Casein Protein and collagen Protein.

"PREMIER PROTEIN" ......brand shakes @ Sam's Club. I really like them.

I use Isopure low carb chocolate. I would recommend that you don't buy a lot before surgery since your tastebuds will (most likely) change a bit. I bought a lot, and I have two huge containers of different brands because they just didn't sit well or taste right after surgery.

Premier Protein (I buy them online from their website), Syntrax Nectar mixes (I buy at The Vitamin Shop). You can get them in individual packs so you can try the various flavors. I also make my own with a scoop of a Protein Powder.

I use Quest Protein powder and bars. GNC has samples of each flavor.

Several of the Protein powders manufacturers have sample sizes for one to try.

Good luck and happy hunting! :)

I don't know how my "Protein Powder" somehow changed to "Protein Shakes" in my earlier post.

Anyway, I was advised to add Protein Powder to my yoghurt, or to a non-acidic drink.

Great advice re: Not stocking up Prior surgery. Getting smaller containers is a much better idea.

I still have a massive Sustagen container, almost full ......

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
