Surgery Date in June 27 for Dr Illan in Mexico

Recommended Posts

I have a friend who got her sleeve done by him and also had nothing but good things to say.

Good luck with your decision.

One thing I didn't know, since I haven't been to Mexico in like 15 years we need passports to get there so now I'm scrambling for expedited pass cards going to the passport agency on Monday.

Hi Catlynk

I'm so glad you chose Dr Illan I have been reading almost every thread on here and have never heard anything but very good things about him. One lady did complain that he was unable to check on her one day in recovery because he had an emergency with another patient! Really??? I think she had nothing to complain about. Speaks well of a doctor that he takes care of patients and doesn't leave that to others.

I'm talking to Dr Illan to decide between a sleeve or RNY due to Gerd I already have.

Let's keep in touch!

Tom

Hi Tom,

I'm a female and have stats similar to yours. I had my surgery with Dr. Illan on the fifth of may and couldn't be happier with his work. I'm excited to start my weight loss journey not be a yo-yo anymore myself. I'm happy to answer any questions you have just private message me if you'd like. Tijuana is fabulous: Stacy,Bill, Robert, Henry, and Juanito have been wonderful. Also, the nurses and other staff are very attentive. They have worked out all of the kinks. Good luck to you!!

Today I was like freaking out a little like am I really going to do this...six weeks from now....it's so good to get confirmation. I feel good about Bariatric Pal Mexico very much. I also am in Seattle so if there are complications I can just fly back down. Easy Peasy :)

Isn't it a neat experience?! Has Juanito given you the tour of Chapultepec yet? Make sure you do that if you can fit it in I was amazed at how beautiful that area was. Hope your daughter is doing great in her recovery!

I just had surgery with dr.illan last Wednesday! You're gonna do great! I was so skeptical when I went and have been pleasantly surprised! I was never in as much pain as I expected, didn't feel unsafe and my energy level is higher than I thought it would be! You're in great hands!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
