For those that had to pay a coinsurance, was that due before surgery or was it billed to you? I know a lot of companies vary so I'm just trying to get an idea of what to expect. I'll ask about it at my next appointment. Thanks!

I paid ahead of time, but ended up paying too much and was refunded by the hospital.

A lot of times, they will have you pay your deductible up front but not the co-ins.

I had already met my deductible by time of surgery but not yet hit out of pocket and did have to pay my estimated co-insurance which was overpaid (as the dr ended up filing before the hospital) and I had to get refund from the hospital.

Me too. My deductible should be met by the time I'm ready for surgery and I have no co pay so nothing up front would be awesome!

I've already met my deductible. Coinsurance should also be met by the time of surgery. I'm getting bills up to wazoo Lol but nothing required upfront.

I found out that it will be billed to me and then I'll make an arrangement with the hospital. Thank goodness!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
