March 9th doing very well off all pain meds on day four. Had three surgeries gastric bypass, hernia and gallbladder removal. Am excited for my one week post op appt to be off liquids and eat some yogurt or something other than water or broth lol.

Home today from the hospital. My surgery was March 7 and went great! I'm not all that sore, but I've had some bad gas pains. It's getting better, though. I'm drinking Water, Powerade Zero, and broths. I have no hunger, which is amazing!

Hi

This is my first post but I have been following for a long time. I just had my RNY Gastric Bypass on March 14th. I was discharged from the hospital yesterday March 16th. I had researched and researched but I don't think I was prepared for the amount of pain I would be in. A lot pressure from the gas and also a couple of the incision sites. I have been walking several times a day(even showered yesterday) but at this point I can only function with pain meds.

To those who have already had their March RNYs, How are you feeling? I realize I'm only 3 days out (even less since my surgery didn't get started until 9pm on the 14th) so I need to be patient but I just want to feel like myself again. Any words of inspiration and hope would be lovely.

It will get better, Colleen. I think all our experiences are unique. This is my experience.

I came home feeling great, but the next day I had gas pains in my shoulder like a leg cramp that lasted too long. I had these four or five times the next couple of days. Also, I'm having trouble with my JP drain. In the hospital, it was so excessive we switched from a bulb to a bigger bag. I thought it would be removed Monday, but another doctor subbing for mine didn't like the coloring and ordered a CT scan. They said it showed some swollen glands with Fluid buildup behind them and I would need the bag until this Monday.

There's very little draining now, and the bag smells like rotten eggs--it makes me gag! I'm so ready to get rid of it!!!

Just checking in! Im 12 days post op today and down 18.4 lbs that includes my pre op diet too. Feeling great and I can see the difference in my body already. Im now 207 and according to the charts should be 150 so Ive got a long way to go but am feeling very positive!

Banded this morning and I'm sat in hospital bed ready for a hopefully good nights sleep. Can't wait to get this started, in need of some energy as nothing but Water for 24 hours now but I really can't wait to see the new me!

Good luck to everyone in their journey.

Had RNY March 15th been home 2 days...I have horrible head hunger. I think I want everything. My biggest concern is i wasn't paying attention and really had more Protein Shake than I was told I could handle (5 oz)...the issue us I had NO issues. This scares me. As far as pain it varies but walking seems to be my best friend and works better than the pain meds. Any advice would be awesome
