Aloha Ladies,

I was wondering how is everybody doing. Ready for thanksgiving.?? Anybody scared like me? I was worried about eating too much, but i think my stomach bug takes care of that. Sad thing is its going thru my whole family. I dont know if most will be able to eat the dinner that I make or wheather I will be able to even make it.. We are having baked chicken this year instead of turkey. Are you ladies cooking??

Hi All,

How you feeling Miriam? Hope your feeling better than the last time I talked to you. You sure sounded miserable.

Well turkey day went really well. I ate the normal fanfare with no problems. We went to a friends house and I was the second in line for the food table. I figured I needed a head start since I was probably going to be one of the last ones to finish eating. I think I was on my 4th bite of food and I looked over and my son was DONE eating his food already. This chewing and chewing really makes me aware of how fast people eat, or should I say wolf down. It took me quite awhile, but I wanted to make sure nothing got stuck. The only thing I had a semi problem with was smoked tako. I love that and tried to make sure I took teeny, tiny bites. It was starting to feel a little uncomfortable, so I backed off.

So how did everyone else do eating?

Happy Shopping...........Carmen

Hi Ladies,

I hope you enjoyed your holiday. I did finally. I was worried I wasnt going to make it to Thanksgiving. Thanks for you concern Carmen, i was really bus up that day. My kids had a stomach bug and i was cleaning up vomit for days before. My baby got it too and that was hard for me, because she is so tiny still yet. I have been trying to keep weight on her and she got it, so it was rough. I lost a good 5lbs from it but i never threw up!! I got better enough to make a nice thanksgiving dinner for everybody with the help of my son. He was so good worked with me in the kitchen for hours.. what 16 yr old you know will do that!! They rather run away ya... Anyway, I did fill my plate, but i ate it over 3 sittings.. I guess i couldnt get away from the portion but i couldnt consume all anyway... How did everybody do with their meals??? I STILL need to work on chewing,... i havent totally modified that behavior yet. Especially if im distracted.... which mostly is the case when im eating. Wishing you all the best...

I called HMSA to check out the verbage on how fills are covered under my plan. I have PPO and i learned that the fills(adjustments) are covered as part of the initial surgery for the first 90 days. So we really shouldnt be paying $250 for these fills. However, she said it depends on what the doctor is doing at the time. They can bill the insurance for something else (use another code) then you would have to pay. I hope that the doc is billing for exactly that, the adjustment so that it would be covered. I mean office visits are covered post op yes???

Anybody else been there with this issue already at Fowler's office.

Hello everyone! You guys are all doing so good. marium, do you excersize too? I on the other hand am not doing as well as you all. Last week thursday (last last week actually) I went to see dr fowler for a fill but being i wasnt bale to eat - I decided to wait and figure out what was happenig -- well I was not able to eat anything by thanksgiving and this whole past weekend - i wasnt even able to sip Water. Jennifer had me go in first thing yesterday mornig, I was so dehydrated they immediatly put 2 bags of Fluid via I.V. in me and did blood work to check my kidneys. Dr Fowler was on vacation until today but jennifer called him in to take check me out. He took out 1/2 of my fill!!! I am able to drink water and even had broth today!!! Funny thing is I lost 8lbs this past week and by the time they filled me with I.V., I gained it all back LOL. So I think I am just going to stay with the fill I have until January - unless I start eating A LOT.

so far all together, all I lost is 20lbs -- I stopped all excersize for 3 weeks now, so I cant wait to start agian!

hope to see u guys in fornt of sears :)

Hey Miriam, believe it or not, I am kind of in the same place as you are. I did research on the fills, and that is how it is "supposed" to be, but since Dr. Fowler is not a Participating Physicain with HMSA then they cannot tell him how to do his billing. I have had to submit our receipts to HMSA and they are doing "research" on it and supposed to get back to me. But the bottom line is... Even if it is not covered would I pay it anyway to get the fill???? Yes.... unfortunately. But it is worth a shot. Good Luck, sorry we aren't going to see you on Thursday

But it was nice to see you Lisa, and we were glad to see that you are better and on your way once again. Aloha Everyone,

I am going on Wednesday night and hope to see everyone there. Is it a party should I bring something to eat? I think I remember someone saying there was a gift exchange too.

I got a call on Friday from Jennifer asking if I am available on the 18th of Dec. to do my surgery. I still have to see the psychologist and my second appointments with Cindy & Mary. It is going to be busy week to get everything done but I am excited.

I have lost 8 pounds so far, six of those in the 9 days after I met with Mary. That really motivated me to stay on track with eating and my walking. Can someone tell me how to get one of the weight tickers?

Hope you had a great weekend.

Natasha

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
