So far my pre-op diet has been going well. I haven't had caffeine headaches and overall I feel ok. Today, however has just been rough. I feel terrible. I don't want to do anything, everything seems to be running thru me and now I have a headache.

I'm not sure if everything is starting to fully hit my body or what. Anyone else had problems similar to this pre-op?

Sounds like your body is in the normal process of adjusting to the diet. How long of a pre-op diet do you have?

It gets easier, it is really tough in the begining.

I used the pre-op diet as time to help remind myself that hunger was in my head. Before you know it you'll be at your surgery date and onto the next phase.

You are likely withdrawing from sugar. It will get better, I promise!

Nancy, I was banded Thursday morning and was doing great until early afternoon today. Gassy. A little nausea. Was afraid I'd barf, and I know we don't want THAT to happen at this stage for fear of slippage. I have a stiff neck from not sleeping in my usual positions. Also, it's still hard to get a good, deep breath. But, all in all, I'd say things are okay. I'm taking everyone's advice and not push it. Hope you do too. I find that I feel better after one of my little nappies. smile.gif Take care! Elizabeth

i was doing great with my preop liquid diet until about 2 hours ago. Suddenly I went running to the bathroom....yeah...I guess this is normal? Somebody should have warned us.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
