My sleeve was December 31, and want to eat what I see everywhere on TV. I guess that's normal. My head wants it and my mouth wants it, but my stomach doesn't want it! I'm eating soft, and foods taste good, but I'm full after a quarter cup. Don't push too quickly to the next stage like I did . Had some vomiting and set back about a week. I have to remember slow and easy. I want that pizza on TV, but would be happy with a bite.

I , too would like some Protein ideas. I'm sick of chocolate shakes.

Jennah pennycuff, I am about your size, and same goal weight, sleeved a month before you. I have lost 20 pounds in this first month! My 1 month dr visit is today. Going for a good report. Soon you will be there, too. Good luck.

I'm over a month out and slowly figuring out what food works and what doesn't. As others have said the surgery was done in your stomach not on your brain. I found that I still "craved" foods that I loved pre surgery but once I took one bite I realized that new body wasn't down for it anymore, and that's totally fine with me!

I understand that feeling of wanting food, but not being able to eat it. Those first couple of weeks are super hard. Today marks 5 weeks for me and I am still figuring things out. Here are a couple of things that I tried that helped:

Cream of chicken Soup - gives you some satisfaction for any salt craving

Skim Milk

Cottage cheese - oodles of Protein (10-12g per half cup)

Okios Greek Yogurt - a nice boost of Protein there too (11-13g per 5 oz cup)

There's also something called Getatein - it's a cup of Jello but it packs in 20g of protein into a little cup. They are insanely expensive and the taste is "acquired", but if you can get it down, it's pretty good especially in these early weeks. You can find it on Amazon.< /p>

I use Premier Protein shakes - 30g protein per shake. They come in chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. They really aren't too bad. Also can be found on Amazon or at Sam's Club.

Best of luck and if you discover any additional tricks, please let us know!

Sounds like a normal healing process. But if you begin running a fever or if the incisions become very red, swollen or start to weep, contact your doc immediately because that can mean an infection.

I have found a few ideas. Mix the vanilla powder with flavored Vitamin waters. I use orange for bfast. usually another for lunch. I have also mixed a spoonful of instant Decaf coffee for a nice mocha flavor. Just think what might mix well with your drink. I'm going to try either cherry or raspberry with the chocolate when I open it. Have no fear and be creative. Just stay within the boundries.

Itching seems to be pretty normal. When i was still on oxy meds I learned it is a side effect of them. I thought I'd go mad from the itching, but I stopped the meds and it settled down a lot. Remember there is healing going on inside and out.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
