Driving after surgery

Recommended Posts

That depends on whether you're taking narcotic pain medication, and how sore you are getting in and out of the car. Your doctor may tell you not to drive for the first two weeks, for example, but that's typically because of the pain medication.

I drove on the 3rd day. I stopped taking the narcotics as they were doing nothing for the pain anyway.

Just be careful, because you get tired very fast after surgery. I had high energy levels, but I would only last 2-3 hours and then I needed to rest.

^^ I drove the 3rd day with a drain still in. After 2 hours I was so exhausted felt like I walked a full day at an amusement park so I limited driving to quick errands.

I could have driven the day after surgery but I was in TJ so no thanks. I drove myself home from the airport on the 3rd and 4th day (major blizzard so yes, it took 2 days). I never took any pain Meds.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
