A friend gave me a set of tiny containers for Christmas. They are one cup or less, and have screw on lids. I love them! I portion out what I plan to take to work the next day and also use them for leftovers. Learning to cook in smaller batches has been a big challenge for me post WLS. Now my kids are away at college, I'm divorcing, and I cook only for myself. Making small portions is a very new skill for me. And my food lasts so long now!

I know , I waste some too. I dont know if you're cooking for 1, 2 or more but im cooking just for my hubby and myself. One way that helps is cooking a regular dinner, then packing up the leftovers into the next days lunches. If theres still leftover food, I put it in a tupperware and using blue painters tape and a magic marker, I write the name and date on it. ( Italian chicken, 1-13-16 etc ). Then it goes in a special bin in the fridge marked "Leftovers". It's not a perfect system, but it helps alot !

Cooking in smaller batches is a skill I'll have to learn. I already always make way too much of anything. My spouse and I are terrible about eating leftovers so I oftentimes package up the food and bring it to work for a colleague who hates to cook but loves home-cooked food. I love cooking, and I'm really good at it - but I get sick of eating the same thing several days in a row. I made an enormous lasagna yesterday. I'm going to pack it up well and freeze half of it for another dinner later on. Freezer food = A+. Food that's been sitting in my fridge for a week because I won't eat it = fail.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
