Help needed after total knee surgery

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on 8/3. I am down 62lbs, as of Tuesday prior to surgery for a right total knee replacement. The pain after this knee surgery is so much worse then I thought it was going to be. My whole food schedule and of course exercise schedule are totally off, and I am trying not to get discouraged and stay on track. i am taking narcotics, believe me not because I want to but it is so necessary, and the nausea is terrible. I cannot eat my usual Protein, and mostly just drinking fluids and Soups. I do hope this does not sabotage all I have done in 4 1/2 months. Anyone else experience ortho surgery after sleeve, how did you stay on track. Even if you did not have surgery, any suggestions are welcome. I wrote about this before the surgery the 22nd, and some others answered and said this knee surgery is brutal and they are right. I cannot even think about having the left one done any time soon. Thanks for any ideas

I got my staples out at 17 days. Believe me, the difference will be like night and day. I don't see how anyone can get them both done at the same time.

Oh wow ... I'm sorry you are in so much pain. I also need to have a total knee replacement. I'm trying to buy as much time as I possibly can before having surgery.

As far as exercise and staying on track goes, just do the best you can. Don't be too hard on yourself. You will be back to basics once you begin to heal, and resume your normal daily routine.

Did you ask for for the nausea? Right now walking is the best for your total knee arthroplasty. Watch your calorie intake. Ice your knee take your pains.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
