Hey guys, I'm one week post op today! Feeling more and more like myself everyday. My only real issue is whenever I try to go somewhere and walk around I get lightheaded and slightly dizzy. It's nothing major but it's noticeable. No nausea or pain just lightheaded. Did anyone else have this issue? I'm thinking it's either caffeine withdrawal or maybe I'm not getting enough calories. Idk ????

Always check with your surgeon's office when you experience something that's not considered "normal" for you.

Are you getting enough fluids during the day? Hydration can also be a factor.

Were/Are you diabetic? I found several months after surgery, I started experiencing some hypoglycemic episodes; nothing huge, but enough to make me feel lightheaded and shakey so I keep a regular check on my glucose level (as I was before surgery).

Also, it could be blood pressure related.

This is why it is always good to check in with your surgeon's office or his/her PA.

Good luck to you on your journey!!

I get that too. I think it's low blood sugar or maybe orthostatic hypotension. When getting up to fast from sitting can cause dizziness and lightheadedness.

I'm not diabetic but it could still be related to hypoglycemia. Need to check my sugar in case!

That is on my list for my dr in two days for my 4 week check up. I get so dizzy when I squat down to look at something then stand up.

For me it's low blood pressure. The morning of my 2week PO apt I literally passed out. Not having enough fluids definitely makes it worse for me. (Note, I was having low blood pressure prior to my surgery) but I let my Sur team know right away

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
