I have a hard time with the shakes. Yes, I have tried several. I know they are good but I am burned out. I found Protein Water. I do drink sometimes. Is there a pill form of protein ????, or non flavored protein I can maybe put drops in my water? I also found those Protein Shots that are 3.6 ounces and have 42 grams of protein but my tummy felt upset. I do need help with protein.

How far are you both out of surgery? I'm almost 5 weeks post op RNY and I can get 60-70grams of Protein just thru the food I eat. I drink half a Premier Protein shake 2 times per day to get an additional 30 grams. I usually end up between 90-100 grams per day.

I also didn't feel well on all that protein supplement. Being on real food made a huge difference. Good luck!

I am not aware of a pill form of Protein.

There is unflavored Protein but not non-flavored protein. You can try powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury or Quest. I am not familiar with other brands but there may be some out there.

As far as protein supplements go, I personally like:

Premier Protein (chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry with chocolate as my favorite),

GNC Lean shake 25 (orange cream is my favorite),

ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrate (various flavors) -- either undiluted over crushed ice, diluted with Water, or diluted with Water and Mio drops or crystal light added,

Quest (salted caramel)

Syntrax nectar (fuzzy navel)

ProtiDiet hot chocolate

ProtiDiet creamy chicken and Tomato basil Soups

Unjury chicken Soup

WonderSlim dark chocolate protein pudding

Quest bars (double chocolate chunk and s'mores)

Kay's Naturals protein chips and cookie bites

Mr. cheese O's

Just keep trying different supplements. You can get sample packs. Also, if you go to GNC you can try some samples there.

It is absolutely critical for healing and weight loss that you get in enough protein. How you get it is up to you and your NUT/surgeon. The reason we rely on supplements is that it really is the easiest way to get in enough protein when you are healing from surgery.

Echo @@Inner Surfer Girl... I switched over to Premier Protein shakes right after surgery and haven't looked back. I only buy the chocolate now as I find the strawberry and vanilla flavors too sweet for my tastes.

As @@Gigs525 said, how far out are you, and what are you allowed to eat? The sooner you can start getting the majority of your Protein from real food, the better. If meat/tuna/dairy don't work for you, try to get protein from Beans and cooked, soft vegetables (if you're NUT plan allows.) You can get upwards of 10g protein from 1/2 cup of refried Beans. I also found soy based patties tolerable at a month out... for example, you get 10g of protein from a single morning star Breakfast sausage patty for only 80 calories. For Breakfast, I was eating one of those with a 1/4 cup of scrambled egg beaters (with a little shedded cheese) at 1 month out... 16g+ of protein and only 120 calories or so. Of course your plan may not allow those foods at 1 month.

I can't do the heavy milk based whey Protein Drinks because post op, I've become lactose intolerant, but I do the Syntrax Twisted cherry. It tastes like cherry coolaid honestly. The Blue sky is good too. All the syntrax are lactose free and sit really well for me. It's also getting to be hot chocolate weather and I got some Protein enriched hot chocolate from mybariatricpantry.com it's not my super favorite thing, but at just a month out, anything too warm still hurts the pouch and I feel weird making it into some iced chocolate-Tay LOL

I also eat ProtiDiet items and Quest Protein chips. I also mix unflavored Isopure Protein Powder into foods like chili and Soups.< /p>

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
