Bowel movements after sleeve surgery

Recommended Posts

Hi I am 3 weeks out of surgery and coping quite well with diet drinking and eating but since the day after surgery I have diarrhoea 2-3times a day. It is also very explosive where I have to go immediately I get the urge. Is this normal?

I'm new at this, but when my bowels woke after surgery, it was unholy! It was mass evacuation with pushing and shoving. Then, there was silence. Not pooped since, I've had zero solid food yet, so not surprised. I wonder if you are having a reaction to your Protein? Splatty poo over and over doesn't sound right. Have you repopulated your colon with live yogurt cultures? Maybe that could help?

liquid in, liquid out. I was the same way. It lasted until I started soft foods. It will pass (bah dum bum!).

Are you drinking Protein Drinks? Are they whey and/or milk based? Some people become lactose intolerant after surgery.

Thanks for the responses. I have stated soft food and some solid food. I'm not a milk drinker and not having any Protein Shakes. I just wonder if it is the ketosis and my body is just ridding itself of fat stores. I'll give it another couple of weeks and see if it settles down if not I'll go to my dr

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
