I'm sitting here at this very moment planning my eight day preop and tears are flowing. I'm going through so many different emotions . Is this normal ? I have 10 days to go before my surgery . I'm happy, sad, excited, depressed, crying, smiling..it's like every damn hour is a different feeling. I guess after months and months of planning, when it gets right down to it I can't believe this is really happening..

Absolutely! I was a complete a$$.hole leading up to my surgery. Morning of surgery I was an emotional wreck. Being wheeled down to the operating room and then having my wife turning to go to the waiting room was the worst. I was laying on the table before receiving anesthesia contemplating whether to halt the surgery because I was so scared. However, over 2 months out and I have zero regrets. I'm feeling the best I have in a decade or more... both physically and mentally.

All I can say is do your best to work through the emotional rollercoaster, as the pay off is worth it in the end!

It's completely normal to be all over the place emotionally. This is a huge change you're going through and there are even bigger changes coming soon. I'd be worried if you didn't care. But you can do it, and you won't regret it when all is said and done. :) Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
