Monday I got sleeved. Day 2 was horrible! Done nothing but vomit. Today thats all done and I am finally home. Did anybody notice their heart seem to race after surgery? Im wondering if it could be from the gas bubbles.

Keep an eye on it. Fast heart rate could be the sign of a leak.

I also had my surgery Monday. I'm not home yet due to the sever nausea and vomiting. I have no hungry or desire to drink. How are you doing at home?

They, new i was going fast when i left. We did the swallow test and everything is fine too. I no have a history of having a fast heart rate but havent had a problem with it untill last night actually. Thats why im just wondering if the gas could be contributing to it. I have absolutely no pain whatsoever juat the occasional gas grumble.

I'm still semi miserable. By far worst surgery I have ever had and this is #8 for me. I am really concerned with getting my fluids and Protein in.

Your heart can also race from pain. Just keep a close eye on it.

I'm still pre op until Monday. I'm on a 10 day liquid diet. Yesterday I pretty much gagged and cried while getting my Protein Shakes down. Today I've thrown both up. Sorry if that's tmi. broth doesn't make me full and my unflavored Protein isn't here yet. I live in a very rural small town.

What did you guys do when you were on your pre op diet? Advice would be so appreciated!

I cheated on my liquid diet the girst 7 days. I ate out but still had my Protein Shakes. I lost about 12 lbs pre op. I was completely committed to the liquids on the last 3 days before surgery. I had no issues. Syntrax Nectars was the Protein i used. I mixed them with Water and they taste good. They have lemon and tea flavors as well as the standard chocolate and vanilla flavors. After surgery i did not like them for about a month.

I feel real lucky I am sipping on my shake and tolerating it great. Thinking maybe in just dehydrated. Im used to drinking like a gallon of Water a day and now its significantly decreased

You sound like you are doing great smcbee. Just keep an eye on the heart rate and don't delay seeing the Dr if you get any other symptoms. I am so nauseous it's horrible. I did enjoy my Protein Shake today though so I'll take it.

You have more than me ( it's 11AM here). I have has 33 Oz of Water, 12 of them came from my Protein Shake. I'm really pushing to drink. It's not easy for me being so nauseous

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
