I was approve last week for surgery but for some reason Im not excited. I guess its because the office Im working with is so unprofessional. I love the surgeon but his receptionist and insurance coordinator don't do their jobs and its ridiculous. If I don't hear from them this week Im switching offices.

Getting approved is the important thing. I know how frustrating it can be to deal with staff that are unprofessional but don't let them get to you. Sometimes you have to be proactive. I don't know how you've resisted calling yourself. I would have been on the phone in a heartbeat. Congrats on your approval though. That's great news!

I have called them and called and called and called. The reason that I've gysotten my approval is because I called the insurance company. When I called the office to inform them that I had been approved no on answered and I left a voice mail . So the next day I receive a phone call from the receptionist not the insurance coordinator who I left the message for stating that they hadn't heard from the insurance company yet and it takes 30 working days for approval. Anyway I let her finished and then told her that I had in fact been approved and wanted to know if the information could be faxed over. At this point she is like oh my god it normally takes 20 days and blah blah blah. Really Lady? So anyway she gives me the fax info and says have them fax it and we will call you back to schedule you to see the doctor. Well they faxed it the same day and I've called and called and all I get is the voicemail. Finally today someone picks up which I believe is the receptionist and says oh Trish the insurance coordinator isn't in today and she will call you tomorrow to let you know if she got the fax........ WTF so now I am pissed because this faxed was sent a week ago tomorrow and I have heard nothing. This surgeon has more than one office so I'm hoping that the approval is ok for his other office because these people are terrible and I don't see how he gets paid any money with these two.

I remember how frustrated I was waiting for approval. The wheels sure were moving slowly but now in retrospect I think I needed the extra time to get myself ready. Congratulations on this news, though -- and it's great you like your surgeon because there is so much contact in that first year. I'd check on that -- the plan for follow-up. I had 11 visits with the surgeon the first year as per their program. Good luck with all! Love my band; was worth waiting for!

Thanks Everyone,

I actually contacted another office that my surgeon works out of and they called the office I was working with and transferred all of my information over to where they are. I got a surgery date for December 11th and my pre-op appointment is Dec 4th. Im sooo excited. I learned a lot from all of you and glad that I didn't give up.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
