Violent nightmares

Recommended Posts

I'm 3 days post op. No gas pains, just mild discomfort and no pain meds since the early morning after surgery. Since coming home, I've had the most violent nightmares ever. I literally feel like I'm living a Criminal Minds episode with every dream. Called the doc this morning. She changed the only med I'm on. I'm afraid to go to sleep. It got so bad last night that I put my head on my husband and sobbed. I see the surgeon tomorrow morning. I'm hoping it's just the remnants of the anesthesia or pain meds from the hospital. It's terrifying.

I had the nightmares also for the first few days after surgery. I wonder what causes it???

Oh wow that is terrible ???? I hope it stops now that your meds are being changed.

I haven't had nightmares, but very vivid dreaming almost every night. I used to dream once in a blue moon pre-op.

So glad I'm not abnormal. Haha. I've been stabbed repeatedly, chased, shot at, and left shirtless as I ran for my life. I sure hope 80s love songs on Pandora does the trick tonight. Because if the Jets lose, it's already starting out downhill.

Another patient and I both had the same violent dreams right after surgery. We both dreamed that unknown somebodies were force feeding us so our stomachs exploded. I had it two nights in a row, she had it at least once. I have been recalling my dreams better since surgery as well. Something I rarely did.

I couldn't sleep much at all the night after surgery.

I had this weird dream where folks kept coming into my room and taking my blood....checking my vitals.....asking me what my pain level was.......did I care for more ice chips........had I urniated........how many laps had I walked.........etc.

I could certainly understand if someone had nightmares in the couple days after surgery. All sorts of meds purging out of your system.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
