Any bad experiences ? by not taking vitamins/protein drink

Hi,

Its been two months since I've done my sleeve surgery. I have been taking my Protein drinks and the Vitamins on a regular basis, until lately I have come to a point where I no longer like to take my Protein Drink and forgetting to take my vitamins daily.

I have heard from the dietician that by not taking the meds, chances are that you can loose your hair, loose tooth and other weird side complications can arise.

I also don't feel short of energy, though I am not taking my meds regularly and neither I am able to take in 64ounces of Water. I can barely take 40 ounces of water. Will this by any chance affect the weight loss journey, coz at this point (2months post op), I am only loosing 2lbs per week. Would I loose more, if I did take in more water?

Has anybody gone through this? and if you don't mind, please share your experiences.

I take the nasal spray b12 which is prescription. I also get my chewable vitamins, calcium, iron, d3, etc. it costs me $25 a month.

I ordered the multivitamin patch online. I want to give it a try.

Any particular multivitamin we should take? I was given a lot of information but not a lot of detailed information about how many milligrams of different vitamins I should take. I only know that I should make my way to 60 protein. But what about the other vitamins and minerals how much of each?

Double check with your nutritionist. We were allowed to choose whatever multi we wanted, but we were given specific amounts that we should take. I don't know them off the top of my head. They are written down in my handbook.

I had a thiamin deficiency last year. We caught it before it got critically low. It is normal this year. Our bodies store certain vitamins and deficiencies may not cause issues until years later, then it may be irreversible. If you have a chance to attend a class on vitamins, please do so.

I have read that the binders in regular multivitamins are so strong that it interferes with absorption. This is a big advantage for bariatric multivitamins. Trouble I had was those bariatric multi vitamins made me feel ill. First 18 months post op I did a liquid multi but I hit a rough patch and was having trouble eating. I switched to gummies figurimg they'd be fine along with good nutrition and a daily premier protein(enriched with vitamins). I also eat healthy and take other vitamins. I take B complex sunlingual drops, vitamin D. I used to be good about the calcium citrate but I understand that is controversial now. Big ugly pills that I have way reduced. Need to talk that over with the doc.

If you like coffee you will love this protein shake. You can order them on Amazon.... Just a little pricey but will help you get the protein in daily that's needed. You can also Google them and they will send you a sample. I mix mine with fair life milk 10 oz and two scoops. ( amazing ) just try it!!!! Two of these shakes and you will get in 60 grams of protein in than count your protein you eat. I know protein is hard to get down but this shake made it very easy for me. I'm a little over three months and still drink two a day.attachicon.gif ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1445679103.781937.jpg
