Anyone here have problems with the Vitamins post op? I am about a week and a half post op and am having a hard time with the multi and Calcium. I've tried chewables. The aftertaste is bad and it makes my stomach feel weird--kind of nauseated. So I bought soft chews. They do the same thing. I'm tired of spending a fortune on vitamins that I can't take. Any suggestions?

You might want to check out vitamin patches. They also make Calcium Patches and other supplements. They bypass your digestive tract entirely so no nausea or anything like that. I haven't tried them, but I know a couple of people who have, and their lab work has been excellent. Here is one place that makes patch Vitamins and minerals:

I heard the Patches can cause side effects. Anyone know anything about that? I would love to try those otherwise. Might have to check them out! I'm tired of feeling sick every time I take a Vitamin. Will we eventually be able to swallow Vitamins. I think that might be better than this!

I am on the Bariatric Advantage Multi EA with Iron chewable, 2x a day.

I was told by my NUT to stay off the Calicum chews for one month post-op.

I heard good things about the patch too.

As far as Calcium goes I hand seriously vouch for these:

The flavor of each of the Chewy Bites 500's are outstanding.

I never would have heard of them but our NUT brought samples in for us to try. Everyone in the class seemed to prefer these to the chalky tasting alternatives.

Great product. I actually look forward to taking my calcium.

I am two weeks post op and I've been using the powdered NutriMetrix Multivitamin and Calcium. My dieticians recommended them because they aren't chewable you only have to take ONCE a day!! I use one little capful of the multivitamin and three little capfulls of the calcium mix with about 10 oz of cold Water and drink first thing in the morning and I'm done. I also take a sublingual B12 3x a week. The Vitamins taste kinda like Tang. You get used to it pretty quickly plus you have already had 10 of your 64 oz for the day!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
