How many if you lost weight during preop?

My insurance requires 6 month weight manage classes. I was wondering how many of you have to weight manage classes also and lost weight. I'm worried that they will say I don't need the surgery since I lost weight. Just curious and wondering what your insurance said - I'm starting to worry (only have 1 month left)

I was afraid of the same thing! My BMI is 41, and they told me to lose 10% which will leave me at a BMI of 37. I was concerned and determined to only lose just enough to keep me at 40. But I asked the nurse there, and she told me my weight was my original referral. So I am now determined to lose all that possibly can before surgery. I am only on class 3 of 12 but I'm just as excited.

I've been on preop for one week (solid food, low carb low fat) for the lat week, lost 4kg (8.8lbs)

I lost 33 lbs pre op over a 3 month period

What did you guys have on your 2wk pre-op liquid diet?

No, my doctor didn't require it. I know some do.

I lost about 20 over pre op. That was about 7% of my total weight at the beginning.
