  1. Thank you & you too!!! I drink mostly Water and a some crystal light.
  2. How are all of you doing who had surgery January 7, 2016? (Or around that date.) Did you get past the stall? Getting in your Water & Protein? Exercising? Feeling encouraged or discouraged? I finally broke the stall! Down 3 lbs finally! Still having some difficulty with my water and protein as I am nauseous a lot! Trying to get to the Y 4-5 days a week & walk 2+ miles. Will start swimming and weight training soon. Head hunger is really difficult especially in the evenings. I want to MUNCH so badly! Some days baby carrots just don't cut it! Don't want to go buy new clothes yet. Been fortunate to have a few people pass some things on to me that will work for the time being. How about you?
  3. No, my doctor didn't require it. I know some do.
  4. I have hit the stall also. Been trying to increase my water and protein. I have also been trying to increase my walking to see if I get quickly get back on the losing track. NSV: I am having a lot of people comment on my weight loss & now wearing a smaller clothes!
  5. I lost 33 lbs pre op over a 3 month period

  7. Thank you. I am doing well. Down 13 lbs from surgery day. Having a little trouble getting all my water & protein in each day. Get to start pureed/mushy foods tomorrow. Hoping I can do better with the pureed foods. Not hurting & increasing walking everyday. Feeling stronger & getting more energy every day. Looking forward to being able to work out & swimming. How are you doing?

    Divorce

I am terribly sorry you are going through this difficulty with him! I lost my husband a little over a year ago to pancreatic cancer. I would give the world to have him back! I would really encourage you to seek counseling before you file for divorce.

    Anyone getting sleeved in January?

Was sleeved on Jan 7th. Had complications with low blood pressure, low red blood & low potassium. Finally got to come home on the 11th!! I am doing ok getting fluids in, walking & using incentive spirometer. Have 2 week post opt. appt. on the 19th. Not sure on weight loss yet as I was so bloated after being pumped full of IV fluids to get blood pressure up. Excited to get weighed on Tues. Hope all those who had surgeries recently are doing well
  14. Thank you for all the encouragement! Finally got to come home yesterday. Got my blood pressure & hematocrit stabilized. Then yesterday morning it was my potassium. Have to take at it for the next week at home. It is so nasty tasting but I can deal with that! So glad to be home! Because to the amount of IV Fluids I was given, it is really difficult to tell how much weight I am down. 2 nights ago I was up 22 lbs from just the morning of surgery. I just have to remember it is fluids & I will be back on track soon. This morning down 4. Doing ok today. Just trying to get my fluids down. Stomach not handling broth to well right now. Will try again in a few days
  15. Update: Blood pressure has stabilized but then Saturday my red blood count started dropping. It is down to a level may do a transfusion but since I don't get dizzy sitting up or standing I need to wait on Doctor to decide if they ar wanting to do a transfusion. I also have a very large bruise on my abdomen that is about 8"x8" that they have been watching closely!I But it doesn't feel hard. I really don't feel to bad. Had been walking around & getting my fluids in. Pain is very manageable. I just want to go home!!! I will definite follow doctors orders but so board of being in the hospital!
  16. Glad surgery went smoothly and yay for no nausea! Sorry about the BP and gas pains. It only gets better from here!!! I'm sorry to hear you had bp issues, sounds like they are resolving. Glad to hear you are doing well overall! Thank you! Looks my blood press is under control. I have taken 3 walks around the unit. Each lap a little longer. Ready to go home.
  17. Surgery was yesterday & went pretty smoothly. Problem was my blood pressure went dangerously low last night & stayed low all day. Due to my bp I have not been allowed to walk thus more severe gas pressure. My bp has somewhat stabilized with top number being over 100 for about and hour. I get to finally take a short walk tonight as long as bp doesn't drop when standing up or I get dizzy. Hopefully all is fine & I can go home tomorrow. Abdominal pain has been very manageable & able to get my fluids in. No nausea.
  18. Tomorrow is the day!! So ready to do this although feeling a little anxious.

  21. So sorry to hear that. Hope they reverse their decision. Thank you for the well wishes. Will keep you posted.
  22. 1Irene I also have Dr. Anwar. My surgery is January 7th! So ready for this. Each insurance has different requirements. I was very fortunate that I only had to have one appt. with the nutritionist. I only started this process with the seminar on Sept. 14th. Dr. Anwar wanted me to lose 15lbs but I am down about 30 lbs now. Amazing how much difference cutting out sugar makes Had to get cardiac clearance & get quite a few other tests & clearance. It definitely isn't easy but I am so ready for the change. I know you can get through all the requirements. It really goes by pretty quickly. Best wishes!
