Any January 7th sleevers? Would love to connect!

I had my sleeve procedure on January 7th & things have gone quite well. I haven't been to a support meeting since my procedure--they keep getting cancelled due to inclement weather. I've lost 27lbs so far (including the 2 week liquid diet prior to surgery) & am excited to wake up every day. It's amazing what a little hope will do in your life! The weather is pretty cold, so I've been walking the length of the house figure 8 style (lol!) for 15-20 min twice a day. Getting a little bored w/ the premier protein shakes, but am thankful to have one I like! Also making some liquified vegetable soup w/ protein powder. So far, so good!

@theladysslipper was 216 at surgery and im only at 210 now. : ( I was hoping to be down more.

Are you all on the Facebook page for January 2016

I had surgery Jan 4. I was 216 day of surgery I am down to 189.2 now. I have been having a hard time keeping anything down. I vomited a lot. Now that I am on foods I am doing better. The hardest thing for me is getting my fluids in. I can barely make 25oz per day.

Way to go @@cpervan! Sorry about the nausea. That sounds terrible. My doc prescribed 4mg of zofran & it does the trick for me. I've only gotten nauseous when I take too many vitamins too close together & it's an AWFUL feeling.

What are you all using as protein shakes??? I like the pre-made premier protein chocolate shakes--I have the powder form & mix it w/ milk, but I can't drink it--too sweet & thick. I have a cream of chicken protein soup that's nice & savory.

Hi! I was sleeved Jan. 5th. Almost at the three week mark and have lost 24 lbs! I have had no complications, thankfully. The first week was the most difficult but every day it gets better. No vomiting or nausea but I actually have experienced dumping syndrome after drinking a glass of high Protein low fat chocolate milk. Never again! I'm still on a liquids (soups and protein shakes). It's getting boring but I'll do what I'm told and get through it. It's not forever. I've never been looking forward to eating an egg so much in my life. I'm so happy I found this forum and had this surgery. It's the best feeling in the world to have hope again. It's not easy, but it's worth it. :)

Fellow newbies, I just discovered something new at the doctor's office today. It's a liquid mix-in for Water that has 15g protein! I'm trying to get as much Protein in anywhere I can b/c I've heard that help your hair not fall out so bad. I got a variety of flavors & tried grape tonight--it tastes & smells like a jolly rancher, but 2g sugar & 60 calories. I know it's more calories than crystal light etc, but it helped flavor the water (plain water just tastes very strange now) & I'll take the hydration & the protein.

I've found a powdered peanut butter that is 45 cal (13fat cal) & 5g protein for 2 Tablespoons mixed w/ 1 Tablespoon of water (I actually used 1T of Fairlife 1%milk b/c of the very high protein & low carb/cal) & this mixture is really helping me swallow 2-3 of my large vitamins. Please share anything interesting that you all find❤️

Jan 7th. I would love to connect. Feel free to message me or add me as a friend. I am part of the fb Jan sleevers group also.
